Lagos Government declares Thursday work-free day

March 28, 2018

The Lagos State Government has announced that Thursday, March 29 will be a work-free day in the state.

According to tweets posted on their verified handle on Tuesday evening, this is to “enable Lagosians come out enmasse to welcome President Muhammadu Buhari”.

The update read: “The Lagos State Government has declared Thursday, March 29 as work free day in the State. #PresidentialVisit

“The work-free day will enable Lagosians come out enmasse to welcome President Muhammadu Buhari who is on a historic two-day visit to Lagos State. #PresidentialVisit

“Adequate preparations have been made to mitigate the impact of the road diversions on residents, while access would be given to any emergency situation. #PresidentialVisit.”

The Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal, on Tuesday said there would be temporary road closure and diversions in some areas .

Edgal made the announcement at a news conference in Lagos to update the public on security plans for the President’s visit.

He said that President Buhari would be in Lagos on a two-day official visit on Thursday, March 29 and Friday, March 30.

So we are supposed to halt money-making activities to "come out enmasse" for something that would not benefit the ordinary man on the street.
Someone needs to recommend another supplier to these guys. 😒😒
