Dimples  also known as Gelasin are defects.

 They  are caused by variations in the structure of the facial muscles.
 Dimples are majorly found on the cheek and are more visible when you smile. they can also be found on the chin. It is believed that a divide in the facial muscle or the presence of a double zygomaticus muscle forms the cheek dimples.
 There are no side effects of having dimples as they seem to be one of the most beautiful defect in the human structure.
