Sunday Oliseh sacked!
February 16, 2018Former Super Eagles Coach, Sunday Oliseh, who was appointed as the New Head Coach of Dutch Second Division side Fortuna Sittard in January, 2017, is said to be sacked barely a year after his appointment.

So, it was baffling to see the official statement earlier released by Fortuna Sittard read:
“Fortuna Sittard immediately puts coach Sunday Oliseh on non-active.
“The club management makes this decision as a result of the repeatedly culpable actions for a longer period by the trainer towards several persons in the organization.
“Several attempts by the club to move the trainer to other behavior were unfortunately without result, resulting in an unworkable situation.
“The board of Fortuna Sittard emphasizes that the decision to disband Sunday Oliseh is not motivated by the current sporting performance.
“Because of his inadmissible actions, the coach has made the cooperation with many people within the organization impossible. From players to employees.
“Fortuna Sittard regrets the decision, but states that the club interest goes above all else.”
There has also been some uproar at the Club after his twitter post after his response to the sack.
He came on twitter to blow up what is said to have gone wrong for the Club to have been playing woefully of late.
Oliseh tweeted;
“I confirm; Due to my refusal to participate in illegal activities at Fortuna Sittard & violate the Law, I have been suspended from my duties as Coach by the foreign owners of Fortuna. Unfortunate for the lovely fans, my players & our hard fought phenomenal positioning for promotion”.
This of course, didn’t go down well to the Management of Fortuna Sittard, who have now filled a Court case against Sunday Oliseh.
The promotion-chasing team who have now announced Claudio Braga as the interim man to take the position of Oliseh, has however denied the allegation by Oliseh, of his refusal to take part in illegal activities has been denied by Fortuna Sittard.
The club made a statement on their website to confirm that they would summon Oliseh to arbitration arm of their country’s FA.
The club said:
“The case will be presented by Fortuna Sittard to the arbitration committee of the KNVB – an independent body – which will now make an assessment of whether there is sufficient ground to terminate the employment contract of Sunday Oliseh”
This is definitely not looking good for the former Nigeria Captain, as we await the verdict of the arbitration committee of the KNVB.
